The ITM department is responsible for the development and execution of the IT strategy in order to realise the defined targets. The ITM department takes care of the setup, maintenance and continuity of the IT-architecture in order to support the operational processes. It takes care of further development, alignment, improvements and support of IT systems and applications and is assisting the users of these systems with advice and support. The department is bridging the gap between IT and operations. There is a strong focus on the operational processes and the IT support of these processes. Main tasks
Create a mid-term (5 year) and year planning and translate this into an IT department plan. Align these plans with the overall business planning.
Setup the department and take care of corresponding systems, processes and procedures.
Executes the HR policies within the company for the department, including hiring and selection, the evaluation of the employees, hiring of external resources and authorizations of expenses.
Analyses developments within the organization and the IT landscape and comes up with improvements. Creates a clear picture of the IT requirements in relation to the operational requirements.
Advises the Financial Director on IT plans, IT improvements and related investments.
Defines, in coordination with the Financial Director, proposals for IT projects, evaluates them and takes care of the execution.
Evaluates together with the PSM department the suppliers selected by the IT department. Negotiates together with the PSM department contracts with a big impact on the operational processes. Is responsible for the execution of corporate (IT) projects and programs within the organization.
Which problem do we want to solve?
Thyssenkrupp is looking for a replacement of the existing IT manager in order to make him available for a project within the Operating Unit. The requirements from the business are expanding and there is a growing need for IT support, especially in the Production IT. Within thyssenkrupp more projects, improvements and requests for change are calling for IT support. The dependency on IT systems is enlarging and the availability of IT systems is becoming more important
We expect the IT Operations Manager to align with the operational processes and define an IT roadmap accordingly. The IT roadmap has to be translated into a mid-term and year planning for the IT department.
Besides this the department wants to be more proactive and less busy with troubleshooting.
